Crossing an apparent place
Multiple modern expeditions traversed the position in which the Absent Moon appears. They detected no rock, atmosphere, stable surface, local gravity, or ordinary occluding body.
The result does not identify what the light-field is. It excludes the simplest account: that a conventional moon sits where the eye seems to place it.
How absence was tested
The conclusion does not rest on one heroic mission. Repeated modern crossings compared navigation, local gravity, occultation, and the expectation of a surface or atmosphere. The apparent globe supplied no ordinary object for a craft to approach or pass around.
No mission name, crew, date, or dramatic first crossing has entered the current public record. Those histories can be authored later; the established point is the reproducible physical result rather than a legendary discoverer.
What the crossings left open
Finding no body does not explain why organized light appears globe-like, why its internal branchwork changes, or why only some co-directional stellar signatures can be recovered. It also does not establish that the field is a projection, gateway, memory, or instrument.
The expeditions matter because Veyrans already tested the obvious answer. The Unlocated Guest does not arrive to tell a capable civilization that its moon is missing; they enter a mature inquiry whose simplest model failed long ago.
