The Unlocated Guest is not an empty protagonist and not a chosen interpreter. They arrive with a life intact in memory—and with two absences precise enough to become questions.
A remembered life
The visitor remembers who they are. They retain people and relationships that matter to them, learned skills, familiar routines, and the lived texture of a prior home. They have not awakened as a blank person waiting for Veyra to provide an identity.
That continuity gives the loss its human scale. The missing information is not the visitor's entire past, but the ability to place that past within a shared world.
The missing interval
The visitor cannot locate their remembered home on any reliable chart. They also cannot reconstruct the final interval before arriving on Veyra: the transit, passage, or event that brought them there.
These are connected questions, but the current account does not establish that they have one cause. It does not establish that the visitor came from a remembered offworld settlement, crossed a changed horizon, or was summoned by the Absent Moon.
Testimony, not proof
The visitor's memories are sincere testimony. They are not self-authenticating evidence of chronology, geography, or origin. Future investigation must compare language, materials, physiology, instruments, personal account, and surviving records with the limits of each kept visible.
Their humanlike appearance proves nothing. Veyran bodily diversity cannot be turned into a test of who belongs, and resemblance cannot settle whether Veyrans are future humans, related humanity, or an uncanny convergence.
Useful without being chosen
The Moon does not brighten, open, or speak uniquely for the visitor. They possess no inherited key and no decoding power unavailable to Veyran experts.
What the Unlocated Guest can contribute is movement between contexts. They can listen to people who do not ordinarily work together, carry questions without owning them, and compare observations whose significance no single specialist can see alone. Their first work at Tideglass Sanctuary begins with consent and calibration rather than destiny.
