Veyra is beautiful without being untouched. Its cities, instruments, gardens, and waterways are evidence of a technologically mature society that treats care as infrastructure.
A world made inhabitable
Veyra is warm, water-rich, and synchronously rotating: the same broad face remains turned toward its sun. That creates sunward, nightward, and terminator environments rather than an ordinary procession of days and nights. Lumael occupies a temperate eveningward band where the sun stays close to the horizon.
The world is not a wilderness with a few futuristic buildings placed upon it. Veyran civilization is old, capable, and visibly present. Its achievement is not the absence of intervention, but the habit of making intervention legible, repairable, and reciprocal.
The enduring questions
Veyra's sky is dominated by the Absent Moon, an immense field of organized light that resembles a globe but has no discoverable body. Roughly nine centuries before the visitor's arrival, the Silence broke deep-space contact and left the era's dominant archives inaccessible.
Whether Veyrans are humanity's descendants, close relations, or the result of some other history remains unresolved. Appearance alone cannot answer that question, and the arrival of the Unlocated Guest does not settle it.
One world, many lived scales
The opening Atlas shows only one watershed. At Tideglass Sanctuary, advanced instruments share space with baths and flowering terraces; in Avenor, the same civilization supports dense homes, markets, waterways, and monumental civic rooms. Neither place can stand in for the whole planet.
Veyra's habitable bands extend toward permanent light and permanent dark, where conditions and communities remain unevenly documented. The world matters as more than a backdrop because every answer about the Moon, the Silence, or the visitor must eventually fit lives beyond the first beautiful horizon.
