Tideglass is neither an isolated luxury resort nor a secret research station. Its curved rooms, baths, gardens, terraces, and instruments form one inhabited system designed to help people return to themselves without withdrawing from the living world.
On the western shore
Tideglass grows from the western bank of Lumael Cove. From its terraces, the lower basin opens north toward Veilfall, while the distant lights of Avenor rise beyond the Upper Lake to the east. Architecture follows the shoreline through planted roofs, sheltered water access, warm rooms, and paths shaped around rock and roots.
Its position matters. Tideglass is close enough to the cove's water and mist to live by their changes, yet quiet enough that small differences in light, flowering, and sky exposure can be noticed across repeated visits.
A place to return to oneself
Sanctuary here means restoration without isolation. Guests share meals, baths, music, gardens, observatories, and unhurried time. Luxury is measured in attention, privacy, skilled care, and the freedom to recover without being treated as a problem to solve.
Participation is offered rather than demanded. A guest may help under stewardship, learn how a living system is maintained, or simply observe carefully. Veyran reciprocity does not turn hospitality into a debt.
The working sky garden
Tideglass's gardens are also observatories. Flowering terraces respond to the region's permanent but changing twilight, so their caretakers compare weather, mist, light, and Moon-field exposure through ordinary civic instruments. The Field Lens and the site's separated observation mounts belong first to that practical work.
Maelin, Tideglass's guest steward and sky-garden keeper, maintains the current calibration. The instruments are visible parts of the sanctuary rather than hidden machinery: maintained, explained, and inseparable from the people and ecology that give their records meaning.
A doorway into the mystery
Tideglass becomes the visitor's first opportunity to do more than admire the Absent Moon. Two observation sites, one carefully taught instrument, and an older Paired Skyplate record invite a comparison whose meaning cannot be settled by one beautiful view.
The sanctuary does not promise an answer. It offers something more Veyran: a trustworthy place, a responsible caretaker, and a question precise enough to test.
