The cove is Lumael's emotional and geographic center: a living basin where water, mist, settlement, and immense sky meet.
A lower basin open to the sea
The cove receives the full descent from Veilfall and releases it toward the ocean through the Southern Tidal Narrows. It is sheltered without being sealed, freshwater-fed without being isolated from tidal exchange.
Its western shore rises toward Tideglass Sanctuary. Looking north, the falls form a luminous threshold and the distant upper watershed continues beyond them.
Water under the Moon
When the Absent Moon aligns above Lumael, its broad illumination appears across the water. The effect is observer-relative: broken by mist and waves, reorganizing with viewpoint, and never a stable disk, beam, or route.
An arrival shore
Cared-for paths, shallow water gardens, wet rock, and long northern sightlines make the cove a gentle first encounter with Veyra. The scale is immense, but the shoreline offers ordinary evidence of habitation: access maintained around living systems rather than a wilderness staged for the visitor.
The cove teaches the geography before it asks for an explanation. Fresh water comes from the Upper Lake through Veilfall, ocean influence returns through the narrows, and the Moon supplies light but no measurable lunar tide. Seeing those relationships clearly is the first defense against turning wonder into a false conclusion.
