Veilfall is both landmark and living infrastructure: immense at a distance, intricate with mist, sound, and maintained observation at human scale.
Northern threshold
The Upper Lake spills over Veilfall in layered curtains before gathering in Lumael Cove. The escarpment is the clearest visual proof that the upper and lower basins belong to one watershed.
Paths and overlooks enter the rock and vegetation without reducing the falls to scenery. The Listening Ring is integrated into this threshold and remains smaller than the natural system it attends.
What is known—and what is not
Dense Veilfall mist appears in an authenticated record associated with the Paired Skyplate. That record reports a reversal of one internal Moon branch under its stated conditions; it is a historical record, not a present-day observation of causality.
Stories that Veilfall produces a decoded chord or proves a physical relationship with the Moon remain proposals outside the current public account.
Immensity at human scale
From across the cove, Veilfall reads as one luminous crescent. Up close it separates into braided water, wet stone, thunder, drifting spray, maintenance gardens, paths, and sheltered openings. The change in scale is part of the place: sublimity becomes a set of conditions people can enter and care for.
Water-carved chambers within the escarpment resonate at particular levels. Veyrans attend to those sounds through the Listening Ring, but the existence of a repeatable resonance does not by itself show whether geology, design, or later adaptation produced it.
